There are guides to help you learn the language, learn to shop, and learn to get around, but not much published material that can really help you with cross-cultural dating. That you have to learn on your own. Dating overseas is not like dating someone from your home country, in your home country. Subtleties and nuances in the culture feel very different when they are being exhibited by your date. Being friends just isn’t the same. It can be both fun and frustrating. Unless you want to be alone while you are living overseas, singles will likely have to learn how to navigate the highstakes world of cross-cultural dating.
Foreign women are a novelty to men in some cultures. I know many women who had no problems finding dates wherever they moved. But stepping it up a notch to a crosscultural marriage was a totally different concept. There’s a world of difference between a foreign girlfriend and a foreign wife.
